Writer's Block: Toy story

What was your favorite toy when you were a child? Do you still have it? What did it mean to you?

That is a difficult one. Probably an old Gilbert chemistry set that I had... alcohol lamp, sample of uranium, little Geiger counter, lots of toxic and flammable chemicals, real glass Erlenmeyer flasks & test tubes on which I was duly burned and didn't sue anyone - it's hard to find a decent Chem kit nowadays. The lawyers have hqiz'd that up for all of us, I'm afraid.

Chemistry sets these days contain vinegar, bicarb, three different food colourings and a warning as big as a phone book.

Egg-zackly. It's a crying shame, too. How can you even prepare a decent Briggs-Rauscher reaction with what they give you?

Yarg!

I still have my Super NES, tho I haven't used it in a few years. Can't say what it "means" to me besides classic old-school games.
