Who is your favorite lady detective from movies, books, or TV?

And that would be Jessica Fletcher of "Murder She Wrote," as I think Angela Lansbury is superb, although Miss Marple runs a very close second.

Lansbury did play Miss Marple in The Mirror Crack'd. It just wasn't a well-received movie.

Which is bizarre when you consider how many A-list stars were in it.

Hey, there have been bigger bombs with comparably promising casts. Putting all those stars too close together risks an explosion.

Worked in Murder on the Orient Express though. Richard Widmark, who played the victim, agreed to do it so he could meet everyone in the cast.

I always thought that Jessica Fletcher came into existence because they couldn't get the rights to Miss Marple....
although Jane Marple is a lot older than Jessica Fletcher in the books and a lot less active...
just observant with a great knowledge of human nature.
Headology. Works every time. 'Tis pity Esme Weatherwax never became a consulting detective....
