Engineers are crazy!

Gacked this from Doctordidj but had to post it here for the benefit of my friends:

Holy Flapping Scrith! Mama, I want one of those for Christmas!

If the tow-behind water pump is gas-powered, you could have a ball flying all over the lake for hours!

My company could build this, but I can't show the engineer or he will.

The petrol-powered pump would have to exceed 75hp to get the volume and pressure required to lift you. Our 50hp/2500lpm units can almost lift you and will certainly knock you over.

I was ready to call shenanighans on this, but a quick bit of research shows it is entirely feasable.
However;
the guy is not wearing any flotation, and even an alloy frame will only ever have close to neutral buoyancy, and the hoses and brass nozzles will weigh a bit. I recon he'd sink like a stone with the water off. Also, the height, angle and way it moves has me reasonably convinced he's hanging on a wire.

So until proven otherwise, I'm calling shenanigans! :-P

Now that's cool!
(in both senses of the word, too!)

Though I wonder how it feels to be pulling a heavy hose behind you like that and how much you have to compensate for it...

So that's what happened to the Water Wiggle.
