Saw a few films over the last month while traveling. Not a lot of time to go into detail, but here's the executive summary:

Pixar's "Brave": Want to see this one again with subtitles, because even as a linguist the Scots accent was hard to follow in the theatre where we were. Sound quality was not the best. I loved everything about this picture even though the story was just a tad weaker than some of Pixar's best offerings. It was truly charming. 9Stars - Nine stars out of ten.

The Avengers: Without wanting to spoil anything, I'll just say this: Hulk vs. Loki. 9point9 - 9.9 Stars out of Ten. Reaching for perfection, this one is.

MIB III</b>: By far the best of the three Men in Black movies. The acting was tremendous, and the ending of this film re-frames the relationship between Jay and Kay, even with respect to the first two in the franchise. Now I have to watch all of them in a row when this one comes out on DVD. 9Stars - Nine stars out of ten.

Also watched "Moulin Rouge" for the first time, on DVD - yas, yas, I know I've been living under a rock - but what an amazing extravaganza. I found the subject matter a mite disturbing but the music was phenomenal. 8Stars - Eight stars out of ten.

Just tonight ToniAnne and I watched Morgan Freeman and Paz Vega in "10 Items or Less." This is a decidedly offbeat indie film which Freeman produced. A lot of people might watch this little gem and say "Whu?" but I loved it. The performances were outstanding. 8Stars - Eight stars out of ten.

Time for bed...
