Writer's Block: Beep, Bop, Boop

What was the first video or computer game you ever played? Did you love it or hate it, and why?

Pong. They had one at the Penny Arcade (now long gone) at Lagoon in Farmington, Utah. Developed by Allan Alcorn as an assignment from Nolan Bushnell, a U of Utah graduate. At the time I was mesmerized. Never spent a lot of money on video games, though, as I am a recovering pinball addict... *twitch* *shudder*

Hmm. I believe "Donkey Kong, Jr." came with our Atari. I was so young as to not be certain. It was a Christmas gift from Santa; both of our stockings were sitting on top of the box. The only game system that was owned equally between us. (And therefore Russ had to give me equal turns at playing!)

Hmm, first ever would have to be the original Super Mario Brothers game.

The earliest game I played (as in the age of the game) would have to be those titles for the Atari I've got, such as Dig Dug, Millipede, and, and...
Hmm, sounds like I need to pull out my Atari again and play some retro games again!

Probably Reader Rabbit, a PC edutainment game for ages 5-7. I don't remember which video game I played rather than watched first, but Game Boy Tetris is likely.
