It appears that Kevin Trudeau is still at it.

My mother (age 94) got one of his pieces of excrement today, signed by "Katie" (even though the typed name under the signature said "Kirsten".) The return address is now PO Box 560627, Dallas, TX 75356-0627.

There are dozens of links to this particular scam letter, which has been going out from various addresses in Delaware and elsewhere since at least 2005, inviting the gullible to get a "free" publication that will turn them into these paranormal powerhouses: just Google "Nouveau Tech" or "Invitation Processing Letter". Apparently the suckers that respond are sent a brochure, and a solicitation. Those who buy his books (the only thing he can now hawk that are protected by the First Amendment) pay hundreds of dollars for spurious information. According to the best information out there, this fraudster operates out of the country of Nevis, and for some reason he seems to be relatively untouchable despite multiple felony convictions.

Digging deeper, I discovered a link to "globalinformationnetwork.com", a multi-level network inviting people to join a network of wildly wealthy and influential people who will help each other amass fortunes using the law of attraction. Have a look at this hqiz:

Level 1 Qualifications:
• $1,000 initiation fee
• $150 monthly dues
• Referred to GIN by a GIN Affiliate or Member in good standing

Level 1 Member Benefits:
• Access to membership level 1 sections of the GIN website

Level 1 Cash Bonuses:
• None

Subsequent levels 2-12 are "classified", and you only get the info when you're ready to move to the next level.

I have enough of my own failings - I'm probably going to Hell just on general principles. But if anything about life is fair, this poor excuse for a human being will be in the boiling tar pit next to mine - after getting his ass kicked by Chuck Norris forever.

*blinks*

Is that thing the pyramid scheme it appears to be, one wonders?

One also wonders WTF is wrong with people who do that to others.

Lobo Viejo, please abandon the idea of "probably" going to Hell. Doesn't your church say that very few people go there? At the very least, it shouldn't be too hard to get out of that fate with a bit of determination, no matter what you've done. (And personally, I don't really care what that is.)

That said, it's kinda funny to think of something happening after something else happens forever.

Is your mother lucid enough to consult you before going ahead with these scams, or do you have to intervene uninvited?

Mom never even sees this sort of stuff. It would be like giving her a copy of Beowulf in the original Old English.

The comment about Hell was tongue in cheek, of course. And yes, I like the idea of these drones being pounded by Chuck Norris forever, after which they get to stand in boiling pitch forever. Since time has no meaning in eternity, simultaneity is not excluded. I'll call it Schroedinger's Hell.

Schrodinger's Hell. Now there's a concept to blow a philosophy teacher's mind!

You don't know you're in Hell, unless you look inside the box.

As William Goldman said, life *isn't* fair. It's just fairer than death.

I would hope the two of you can share a pit of boiling pitch - so you can stand above the surface on the bastard's shoulders.

It was a risky line that you would either love or roll your eyes at. Glad it paid off.

::LOL!:: Good one, Deckardcanine!

I passed your warning on to a few people that I think might otherwise fall for this scumbag, Old Wolf.

Ahm. I got the letter today and googled the address and this is how I found you guys. I'll tell you what. I've been looking for comments from anyone who actually GOT SCAMMED by these people and found none. However, how do I know it can't be anything ethical? Here I go:
In the letter they say: "Learn how to transfer all money, power, prestige from the uninformed to you... instantly." I am not a saint, but whoever profits from others' ignorance must be a crook of some sort. In MY religion, you can only WIN from sharing knowledge and I have seen it work big time. The better your environment is, the better you are. This letter is really for dorks.
